Description

Jesus and Inelda, a math teacher and an economist, rent five clean and comfortable rooms in their grandiose colonial casa particular from 1750. Located a few blocks up from the main square, the roof terrace has great views of the surrounding mountains and sea. With rocking chairs and a tasty mojito made by the friendly hosts, this is an ideal place to end the day watching a romantic sunset.

Such a friendly casa! 06 Nov 2017
Awesome place! Definitely the casa particular in Trinidad where we would recommend you stay! On a side street but easy to find. We asked the waiter for directions and she knew exactly where it was and knew Jesus and Inelda personally. In fact everyone seemed to know the Jesus and Inelda, who are really friendly, welcomed us with open arms and had all the time in the world for their guests. One of the staff members spoke excellent english and did his best to make sure all the guests felt at home. The casa has a colonial feel, is very charming, with a very nice balcony, has bar with a norwegian flag (being norwegian this is a plus!), and a restaurant in the front with colonial furniture. The food is very nice and the breakfast is excellent because of the fresh fruit and bananas. The rooms are simple and clean and the beds are comfortable. We spoke to some of the other guests and it became clear that some of the guests always stay at this casa when they are in Trinidad, which speaks volumes! Jesus was very helpful in organising our trip to Havana! And my girlfriend thanks you for the wooden fan! Thor

Wonderful place and wonderful hosts. Jesus and Inelda are so helpful and engaging. They have one staff member in particular who deserves special mention: Janquil (aka Janqui), who speaks excellent English, is so attentive and accomodating, and can talk American baseball in detail -- he knows most of the players on my local team (SF Giants) -- not just the very famous Cuban MLB stars like Yasiel Puig and Yoenis Cespedes, whose names are familiar to every Cuban. Accommodations in the rooms themselves are simple, as you might expect, and not quite US standards but beds are comfortable and rooms are more than adequate, and wonderful value for the money. The casa particular itself is charming, with several different terraces on the roof, including one that is quite private, with four rocking chairs, from which you have an almost private concert experience with the excellent 5 piece band that plays in the evenings on the rooftop terrace of the restaurant next door. Great views of the mountains from the terrace. I'd go five stars on everything here. I only took a star off in the cleanliness and comfort categories to indicate that you shouldn't expect US or European standards - that's just a fact of life in Cuba, where it's a challenge to acquire the things needed to run a hotel. We were very, very pleased with Casa Hopedaje Trinidad, and the two categories in which I've indicated less than 5 stars are in no way a sign of any dissatisfaction whatsoever with the wonderful time we had during our stay here. Highest of recommendations for Casa Hospedaje Trinidad, a great casa particular.
