Havana, the capital of Cuba, was founded in 1519. It is a cosmopolitan city, where not only cultures and customs from many countries converge, but also from various eras. It has a historical, architectural and cultural heritage of great attraction for tourists, together with more contemporary elements, of which the town itself and people, constitute the factor that differentiates it and makes this nation unique.
The historic centre of the city and its system of fortifications was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Havana’s Malecón is not to be missed, between May and September, early in the morning or before sunset; the rest of the year, at any time. No matter the season, to be enjoyed always with Cubans at nights, mostly on weekends.
